My Approach
I’m Chase Wickersham, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) with nearly two decades of hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments.
My journey began in 2007 at International K-9 College, where I completed a rigorous 520-hour Police Service Dog Trainers Course focused on detection, patrol, behavior, handling, and advanced canine training techniques. Since then, I’ve worked with everything from family companions and puppies to high-drive working dogs, giving me a unique understanding of canine behavior and communication.
Over the years, I’ve helped hundreds of dogs and their owners overcome challenges ranging from basic obedience and puppy training to leash reactivity, impulse control, separation anxiety, and behavior modification. As the owner and head trainer of Smart Dogs Rule, I’ve built my reputation on creating clear communication, practical solutions, and lasting results that strengthen the relationship between dogs and their families.
My approach combines proven training principles, real-world experience, and individualized coaching. Every dog is different, which is why I tailor each training program to the dog’s personality, the owner’s goals, and the realities of everyday life. Training shouldn’t feel overwhelming. It should be clear, structured, and enjoyable for both ends of the leash.
Whether you’re raising a new puppy, struggling with behavioral issues, or looking to take your dog’s obedience to the next level, my goal is simple: help you build a calm, confident, and reliable dog while creating a stronger bond that lasts a lifetime.
